How Can You Get Involved?
PLAYER
The Miracle League of San Diego welcomes all players regardless of intellectual or physical challenge. Players must be at least five years old. Each player is paired with one buddy on their assigned team. Together the player and buddy build friendships to last a lifetime while playing baseball.
BUDDIES
Buddies are a vital part of the success of Miracle League of San Diego. Each player is assigned a buddy for the season. The buddy is there to protect the player, assist the player in batting and running the bases, and to be a friend on and off the field. For more information on a buddy's responsibilities, please download the following:
COACHES
Coaches set the tone and guide each Miracle League of San Diego team. The coach's code is to speak words of encouragement and support, to provide a safe and healthy space for players and buddies, and to create a positive environment for all. For more information on a coach's responsibilities, please download the following:
Game Day Group Volunteers
MLSD relies on groups that volunteer for a game day to man the snack bar and merchandise table, to serve as umpires, and to fill in as buddies if needed. These volunteer days serve as great team building exercises and are often filled by corporate sponsors, in addition to youth groups like NCL and TVIA. For more information on the game day volunteer requirements for each field, please download the respective flier.
